Using the command line

dvdisaster switches into command line mode if it is invoked with an action parameter (such as read, create, scan, fix, test). Otherwise a window for the graphical user interface will be opened.

Command line mode ignores any settings from the graphical user interface and the .dvdisaster configuration file.

Hints for the Windows version:

  • Under Windows 2000 and XP either administrator priviledges or an installed ASPI driver are required in order to access the CD/DVD drives.

  • For technical reasons there are two program versions for Windows:
    dvdisaster.exe--provides the command line interface
    dvdisaster-win.exe--contains the graphical user interface
